Coming from Osternach, the 62-year-old from the Ried district was traveling on the L1112, the Osternach district road, towards Ort im Innkreis on Monday when the accident occurred around 12.30 p.m.: For reasons that are still unclear, the Innviertler’s car left the road and crashed head-on into a garden wall.

When first responders arrived, the man was still conscious. But then his condition deteriorated rapidly. Attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful; the emergency doctor could only determine that the man was dead.
