Illness forced a two-year break from competition, but Lisa Gruber didn’t give up. Now the LAC Steyr track and field athlete returned straight to the top step of the podium. Gruber, who won bronze in the pole vault at the U20 European Championships in Tallinn in 2021, confidently won the gold medal at the national indoor championships with a jump of 4.10 meters. She is not the only winner from Steyr: steeplechase national champion Tobias Rattinger won the 3000 meter competition with a running time of 8:32.81 minutes. He is now on course for his big goal, the European Championships in Rome. For the first time in his career, Christian Fehringer won silver at the state championship in the 800-meter race, crossing the finish line after 1:59.25 minutes. Viona Knoll wears the bronze medal around her neck after the 400-meter run in a time of 62.04 seconds.
