Hermann Würflingsdobler and his son Martin ran the umbrella manufacturer Doppler together for two years. Now the junior has taken over sole management. “The 35 years in which my father managed the company were characterized by foresight and tireless commitment,” says Martin Würflingsdobler. The father will continue to be “responsible for important areas of the company”.
Martin Würflingsdobler has been with the family business since 2015, based in Braunau and other branches in Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia and China. He previously worked at BMW in Steyr, among others. The new boss wants to expand Doppler’s export activities. Umbrellas and garden umbrellas as well as seat cushions and garden furniture are sold under the brands doppler, doppler Manufaktur, Knirps and derby.
“So far we have exported our products primarily to Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Switzerland,” says Martin Würflingsdobler: “After recent intensive preparations, we will significantly drive growth in additional countries this year and, in addition to numerous other measures, will ensure that we… Europe will become even more present.” The places at the important international trade fairs in Oslo, Milan and Paris have already been booked. In addition, Doppler has recently recorded pleasing growth in the rain segment in countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Ireland and Italy.
Doppler’s export quota is already more than 80 percent. It is said that there is also potential in Asia, where the umbrella manufacturer is best known for its Knirps brand.
