The Porsche Macan was first introduced in 2014, as the little brother of the mighty Cayenne. Since then, the little brother has developed into an important pillar in the model range of the Stuttgart premium brand.
The Macan, built in Leipzig, has been delivered more than 844,000 times so far. In addition, the entry-level model has brought a lot of new customers into the Porsche family: a good 80 percent of all Macan buyers are with the brand for the first time.

Up to 270 kW charging power
Now a complete redesign follows: The Macan is becoming electric, making the five-door model the Stuttgart-based company’s second fully electric model after the Taycan. And as befits a Porsche, the Macan not only drives quickly, it also charges lightning fast.
Specifically, the vehicle will be available as a Porsche Macan 4 (from 86,761 euros) and Porsche Macan Turbo (from 117,495 euros) – both versions have all-wheel drive. In the Macan 4, the two electric motors have an output of 300 kW/408 hp. The turbo version even has 470 kW/639 hp. Thanks to the battery pack with a usable capacity of 95 kilowatt hours (kWh), up to 613 (Macan 4) or 591 kilometers can be covered on one charge.

And thanks to 800-volt technology, the fast charging station (DC) charges with a maximum of 270 kilowatts (kW). According to the manufacturer, the battery can ideally be charged from ten to 80 percent in just 21 minutes. The Macan charges with 11 kW on the wallbox (AC).
When it comes to design, it is noticeable that the front is based on the electric Taycan and the vehicle has mutated into an SUV coupé. In order to improve aerodynamics as much as possible, the Macan has an active rear spoiler, active cooling flaps on the front air inlets and flexible covers on the fully sealed underbody. The result is a very good drag coefficient of 0.25. This is good for consumption and therefore range.
Rear axle steering optional
Despite the coupe-like silhouette, there is plenty of space, and the power surge allows for more cargo space. There are 540 liters available for filling behind the back seat – the “frunk” under the front hood swallows another 86 liters of cargo. If the rear seat back is folded down, the trunk volume increases to 1348 liters. And even that isn’t enough, the Macan can hook trailers weighing up to 2,000 kilograms.
Rear-axle steering is available as an option for the Macan.
