In September, the Perg deanery began the structural process to establish a common parish and 14 parishes. Since January 31st, following the conclusion of a hearing process, the people who will form the leadership team of this parish have been determined. These are Pastor Konrad Hörmanseder, pastoral director Josef Froschauer and administrative director Karl Kriechbaumer.
Konrad Hörmanseder (born 1963) comes from Dorf an der Pram (Schärding district). After qualifying as a skilled worker as a machine fitter (1982), he passed the university entrance examination in Vienna, entered the Linz seminary in 1988 and studied Catholic theology in Linz and Munich (1988 – 1994). He was ordained a priest in 1995. After positions in Neukirchen am Walde, Wels and Mondsee, he was appointed pastor of Perg in 2001. Since 2005 he has also been the parish provisionalist in Pergkirchen, since 2012 the parish provisionalist in Aller Heiligen and since 2014 the parish provisionalist in Münzbach. In 2010, Konrad Hörmanseder succeeded Johann Zauner as dean of the Perg deanery.
Josef Froschauer (born 1974) grew up in Mitterkirchen. He is a qualified pastoral assistant and has worked in a variety of church areas, currently as a consultant for pastoral care teams, community development and communication in the volunteer and parish department of the Diocese of Linz.
Karl Kriechbaumer (born 1978) completed training as an office clerk. After passing the vocational qualification exam, he attended the municipal administration school and was initially a contract employee and later an office manager at the municipal office in Rechberg. Since 2023 he has been working as a parish administrator for the parishes of Perg, Aller Heiligen, Münzbach and Pergkirchen. He lives with his wife and daughter in Rechberg, where he also volunteers in the parish.
The leadership team (pastor, pastoral director, administrative director) will be responsible for all church events in the future parish in collaboration with all those called through baptism. The pastor has overall responsibility for pastoral care for the people in the parish, which must be carried out together with full-time and voluntary employees. The role of pastoral board is assumed by a theologically qualified person with experience in pastoral care. The administrative board takes care of budgetary, administrative, construction and legal matters.
In autumn 2024, the pastor and board members will start working in the shared office in Perg. One of your first tasks will be to discuss the specific tasks with the full-time employees in the current parishes, to address the focal points in the spirit of the pastoral concept and to create a stronger awareness of the common pastoral space for action through personal and thematic networking.
The legal establishment as a parish will take place on January 1, 2025. All deaneries and parishes in the Diocese of Linz should have gone through this conversion process by 2028.
