First, at the end of 2020, the police arrested a 37-year-old Viennese in Rechersberg (Ried district) when he was caught dragging seven refugees. The Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office investigated a predominantly Syrian group of 15 people. They should have dragged in Austria and especially in Hungary and Germany refugees. In addition, the group will be involved in money laundering.
According to the police, the company’s managing director, a 35-year-old Viennese, is the head of the criminal organization. The transport of the refugees is said to have been commissioned by international smuggling organizations. The 35-year-old was arrested in Vienna on Saturday.
