75.1 million views: Survival trip in the Andes beats Netflix record

16 people survived 72 days in freezing temperatures in the Andes.

In three and a half weeks since its release on January 4th, the director’s thriller Juan Antonio Bayona has already been viewed around 75.1 million times. The film is about the events after a rugby team plane crashed in the Andes in 1972.

The survivors begin eating from the corpses preserved in ice in the cold until they are rescued after 72 days. The record for views of non-English-language films after a runtime of 91 days is held by the monster film “Troll” (Norway, 2022) with 103 million views.
