Longer opening times at the end of the lockdown

Regional Councilor Markus Achleitner, Chamber of Commerce President Doris Hummer and Chamber of Labor President Andreas Stangl announced this yesterday in a joint press conference.

Shops are allowed to open on Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sunday, however, only those dealers who were affected by the lockdown are allowed to sell.

At the same time, the state is starting a competition: Anyone shopping in Upper Austria between December 17th and January 8th can upload their invoice to the homepage www.ooe-weihnachtsshopping.at. 10,000 invoices up to an amount of 200 euros will be drawn. In addition, the state wants to set up a regional bonus for small businesses who are now investing and also increase the budget for local supply funding from 2.5 to four million euros. In total, the country wants to provide ten million euros to cushion the consequences of the lockdown for small businesses.

Hummer, Stangl and Achleitner appealed to Upper Austrians not to buy in foreign online shops but in regional shops. They also pointed out that shopping during the coming lockdown days in other federal states or abroad is not only not desired, but also prohibited. (hn)
