On December 1st, the OÖNachrichten started the raffle of appreciation. The response that followed in the days that followed was overwhelming. Companies, celebrities and simple private individuals were united by one wish: “We would like to support this campaign.”
“I opened the OÖN, and I immediately felt the need to contribute to this campaign,” says star conductor Franz Welser-Möst. He has the greatest respect for the hospital staff: “What these people achieve is superhuman.” He invites two winners to an opera performance at the Salzburg Festival and to dinner together.
The “Amadeus Music Award” winners from Folkshilfe see it similarly: “You are the real heroines,” they say to the nursing staff. They agreed to hold a street music concert for 50 hospital ward employees in the greater Linz area. For Florian Ritt, Paul Slaviczek and Gabriel Fröhlich it is “a matter of honor” to support this campaign.
The Upper Austrian police also wanted to contribute a raffle prize. The State Police Directorate has found a creative prize: the winners, accompanied by experienced officers, can look forward to Danube boat tours with the new “Lentia” police boat.
“The people who are fighting for every life are at the limit,” says Richard Hanke, hiking and snowshoe guide from Gmunden. A day’s hike through the snow-covered Salzkammergut could be a good compensation, he says. And that’s exactly what he donated as a prize.
“Recovery is probably the most important thing for caregivers who are so stressed,” says Sonja Hainy, Head of Marketing at the Spa Hotel Bründl in Bad Leonfelden. That is why the four-star hotel donated two vouchers for two nights including a four-course evening meal and relaxation in the wellness area.
So that the stressed hospital employees do not lose their humor in these difficult times, the Oberbank has hired the cabaret artist Klaus Eckel, who will perform for the winners on June 22, 2022 in the Donauforum.
Numerous companies and institutions contributed vouchers and tickets for the raffle. The spectrum is wide and ranges from shopping vouchers from XXXLutz, from Fussl Modestrasse, from Bellaflora and Vossen to cinema tickets from the Megaplex Pasching and Linzer Moviemento to annual tickets in various museums.
Tombola registration
Hospital employees can register for the raffle at nachrichten.at/danke until Sunday, December 12th. On December 15th, a random generator will decide on the winners. In the following days, you will be informed in writing whether and what you have won.
