70,000 euros in loot: Nighttime break-ins in the Hochficht ski area

A lot of loot was made in night-time raids in three restaurants and two valley stations. According to the police, the previously unknown perpetrators entered the premises through windows and doors, which they forced open. These were then thoroughly searched for possible loot.

According to police, cash and cigarettes were taken. Even safes were forced open. The perpetrators drove to the crime scenes, some of which were further away, on a Ski-Doo – they had also stolen this on site.

“The thieves must have had insider knowledge,” says Michael Babl, press spokesman for the Upper Austrian State Police Directorate, to the OÖN. It is currently unclear how many perpetrators were involved. The police investigation is ongoing.
