An advertisement for a small apartment in Tenerife’s capital Santa Cruz is now causing waves in the Canary Islands. The “apartment” on offer offers a bed, a microwave, a refrigerator, a wall-mounted television and a mini kitchenette in 5.8 square meters. Anyone interested will have to pay 430 euros in rent per month.

The expert warns
Raúl Alonso from the Consumer Center of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife says: “Real estate platforms are teeming with offers like this that seemed unthinkable just a short time ago.” The expert suspects unfair practices behind such advertisements and criticizes the lack of clear laws. This makes it possible that such advertisements do not remain isolated cases.
