Donuts, costumes and confetti snippets: It feels like the carnival season has just begun, and now its days are numbered again. The reason why carnival ends so early this year is because of the moon. This determines the date of Easter Sunday, and this in turn determines the duration of the foolish activities. According to the motto “Briefness is the spice”, a colorful mix of parties and parades awaits at the climax.

The calendar of events offers plenty of opportunities to celebrate and dress up up to and including Tuesday, February 13th – the day before Ash Wednesday. All over the country, carnival fans – young and old – can look forward to a lively end.
