The Steinbach an der Steyr, Pieslwang and Klaus fire departments were alerted at lunchtime. A still unknown amount of oil had leaked into the Steyr from a sewage pipe.
To prevent it from spreading in the river, emergency services set up oil barriers. The firefighters bound the liquid with oil-binding fluid and oil binding agent.
