3 dead in an apartment in Bad Vöslau: first results of the autopsy

“We cannot yet completely rule out the involvement of a fourth person,” said Stefan Pfandler, head of the State Criminal Police Office in Lower Austria, after the autopsy of the bodies found in Bad Vöslau (Baden district). Three dead men with gunshot wounds were discovered in an apartment on Saturday, the background remains a mystery.

The preliminary autopsy results were available on Tuesday. Accordingly, two of the men’s bodies had traces of gunshot on their hands. However, this is not proof that these people fired: “Traces of smoke can also be transmitted if a handgun is fired in close proximity to a person,” says Pfandler. One dead man was injured by a handgun, another by a long gun with pellets, and in the third, traces of bullets from both weapons were found. In order to clear up the case, further “lengthy investigations” are necessary. The Federal Criminal Police Office will also be involved in the investigation.

“Possibly wrong track laid”

The dead are the owner of the apartment (77) and two of his acquaintances, aged 67 and 63. The investigator says that nothing is known of any disputes between the three men. When they were discovered, the apartment was locked and the key was inside. However, it could be that a fourth person was present, possibly as a witness, and laid a “false lead”.
