Mühlviertler (75) was fatally injured while working in the forest

A 75-year-old did not return from work in a forest in the municipality of Rainbach im Mühlkreis (Freistadt district) on Tuesday afternoon. The man was alone doing forestry work, which is why the exact circumstances of the fatal accident remain unclear.

According to current investigations, the police assume that the strong wind uprooted a tree and caused it to fall. The senior was probably hit by the top of the tree and fatally injured, the police said in the evening. Details and background were initially unknown.
