The man got stuck in a drainage ditch while pulling out of a parking lot in a public parking lot at 2:00 a.m. He asked two pedestrians who happened to be passing by for help and wanted to give them money for it. Since he had little with him, he went to the nearby ATM to get cash, the police reported on Sunday.
When the man got back to his car there were five or six young men waiting for him. They insisted on “money before performance” and when the 37-year-old wanted to take money from his wallet, they punched him twice in the face. Then they stole his wallet and fled through a park in the direction of Palmstrasse. The victim was injured and treated as an outpatient in the hospital.
The five or six young men are described as being between 18 and 25 years old, dark-haired, and slender in stature. They wore dark jackets and spoke good German with a foreign accent. The police requested information by calling 059 133 4200.
