Sunak’s spokesman announced to journalists in London on Wednesday that the head of government would speak to Charles on the phone the same day. “In general, we do not comment on the Prime Minister’s discussions with the King, nor will we make a habit of doing so”said the speaker. “But in this specific case we have agreed with the palace to confirm that they will speak on the phone later”it continued.

King Charles in outpatient treatment
Typically the weekly audience takes place in person at Buckingham Palace in London. The palace announced on Monday that Charles had been diagnosed with cancer, but gave no further details. It was simply said that it was not prostate cancer. Charles is being treated as an outpatient. The king should not make any public appearances for that long.

On Tuesday, Charles appeared in public for the first time since his cancer diagnosis was announced. In pictures, the monarch was seen leaving his Clarence House residence in London with Queen Camilla in the back seat of a car. They both smiled and waved as they drove by. According to reports, the two drove to Buckingham Palace and from there took a helicopter to their country estate Sandringham in the eastern English county of Norfolk. According to British media reports, a meeting between the brothers William and Harry, who also fell out, was not planned.
Prince William takes over the King’s public appointments
The British heir to the throne, Prince William, will attend public appointments this Wednesday for the first time since his father, King Charles (75), was diagnosed with cancer. William, along with other royals, helps make up for his father’s absence during his cancer treatment. On Wednesday evening, Prince William is expected at the fundraising gala of a London air rescue company.
