Black river continues to have the highest unemployment rate in the Uruguaywith 13.5%, and the department of coast is still unable to reduce its percentage of unemployed, despite the narrowing of the price gap due to the exchange difference with Argentina.
Although since the devaluations promoted in Argentina since the inauguration of the president Javier Mileiprices were “equalized”, the border department once again positioned itself as the one with the highest unemployment in the country, without showing signs of recovery.
In Río Negro, the total number of unemployed is 4,200 and the number of employees reaches 26,900 people. The total assets in the department are 31,100 people.
The podium of the departments with the highest percentage of unemployed is completed by Tacuarembó in second place with 11.8%; and Rocha in third place with 11.5%.
At the other extreme, the department with the lowest unemployment rate is Cologne, with 4.6%; followed by Lavalleja, in second place with 6.1%; and Floridawith 7.0%.
Maldonado leads in activity and employment
The highest activity rate is recorded in Maldonado, with 69.3%; while the lowest occurs in Rocha, with 56.7%. Likewise, Rocha also has the lowest employment rate, with 50.2%. The department with the highest employment rate is Maldonado, with 64%.
On the other hand, the departments that present the highest percentage of non-registration to social security are Artigas, with 49%; followed by Long Hill, with 43.5%; and Tacuarembó, with 37.7%.
