Video clips distributed on Twitter showed how protesters wrestled with the emergency services to break through the cordon. A photographer from the German press agency on the spot reported an aggressive mood. Firecrackers would be set off, a police officer was pelted with a bottle and hit in the foot. A thermos was also flown in the direction of the emergency services.

Two of the injured police officers are temporarily no longer fit for duty, the authorities said. An injured officer was treated in the hospital. Police identified 207 protesters, issued 108 dismissals and initiated 44 criminal proceedings. In addition, there were 47 proceedings for administrative offenses.

Hundreds of people demonstrated against Corona measures in Baden-Württemberg on Saturday and often did not adhere to the applicable requirements. In Reutlingen there were riots by participants against the police.

According to the police, around 1,500 people took part in the rally in Reutlingen under the motto “For freedom, truth and self-determination”. Requests to wear a mask were ignored, it said. As the police announced on Sunday, several hundred lateral thinkers came together in the city to form a human chain. The police are investigating twelve people, among other things because they did not adhere to the assembly requirements, in particular the mask requirement.
