Biden declares emergency in Kentucky due to hurricane

American leader Joe Biden has declared a state of emergency in Kentucky. This was reported on December 11 at the White House.

Earlier that day, it was reported that more than 70 people were killed by a hurricane in Kentucky due to bad weather. It was clarified that their number by the end of the current day could grow to a hundred.

“President Biden has declared an emergency in Kentucky and ordered federal assistance to respond to the incident and maintain normal operation,” the US presidential administration said in a statement.

Hurricanes and strong winds have been continuing in the region for several days. The disaster struck a number of American states, in particular Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky.

On December 11, the White House said that Biden was informed about tornadoes and hurricanes that hit some US states. He ordered to send aid to the regions of the country affected by the disaster.

On the same day, it was reported that at least two people died after a hurricane hit a nursing home in the American city of Monette (Arkansas).
