Right-wing extremist Viennese (20) released with attack plans

The Vienna public prosecutor’s office is investigating the 20-year-old for National Socialist re-activation, incitement, criminal association and incitement to commit punishable actions. Now he has been released.

As the spokesman for the Vienna Regional Court, Christoph Zonsics-Kral, announced on Friday in response to an APA request, the man was released last Wednesday in return for more lenient measures. He vowed not to engage in extremist activities in the future and to stay away from relevant circles. Probation support was also ordered and the 20-year-old was instructed to undergo the “Dialogue instead of Hate” program at the Neustart association. “He has to submit relevant confirmations on a regular basis,” said Zonsics-Kral. The court decision is not legally binding; the public prosecutor’s office can file a complaint against it within 14 days, which the Vienna Higher Regional Court (OLG) would have to deal with.

20-year-old is considered a fire hazard

The 20-year-old has been considered extremely dangerous since chats found on his cell phone were evaluated. “Should I pray with the dirty Muslims or mingle with the Jews when they hold one of their meetings and give it an explosive twist?” he asked one of his chart partners. He was also in contact with the assassin who killed two young men with a gun in front of an LGBTIQ bar in Bratislava in October 2022. During a house search in May 2023, an arsenal of weapons, gas masks and Nazi memorabilia were confiscated from the 20-year-old, but he remained at large for the time being. This only changed with the further evidence that was collected during the investigation.

The young man was given instructions on how to make bombs and how to make firearms. In the confiscated chats – the right-wing extremist group in which he exchanged information is said to have had 40 members – he is said to have called for attacks or approved of them.
