Snowmobile crashed into tree: 2 men seriously injured in Tyrol

The 43 and 44 year old men tried to get to their accommodation by snowmobile around 2:45 a.m. but failed on a steep slope. As they then drove down the ski slope, they got onto a toboggan run, lost control and collided with the tree. When it collided with the tree, the snowmobile overturned and the two men were thrown into the forest, police said. The duo remained seriously injured there.

One of the two managed to notify an acquaintance, who in turn alerted a snow groomer driver. He drove to the scene of the accident and started the rescue chain from there. After initial treatment, the 43-year-old was taken to the Innsbruck clinic and the 44-year-old was taken to Schwaz Hospital.

The police investigation into the accident was ongoing. It was initially unclear which of the men had driven the snowmobile.
