With sleet and a tracky track, an unfair start number race had developed. Manuel Feller, who is leading the Discipline World Cup, is still 164 points ahead of the German Linus Straßer and 205 points ahead of the Swiss Daniel Yule. The next slalom is scheduled for February 25th in Palisades Tahoe (USA).

“The weather forecast was also very, very bad. It was borderline,” said Austria’s men’s head coach Marko Pfeifer, referring to the sleet, wind and the runners’ fogged-up glasses. “The question is whether we want to have such races that become a number lottery. Of course you can push through them, but the decision is understandable to me. It’s a shame that we didn’t have a race, but that’s skiing.”

The Frenchman Clement Noel was in charge on Sunday, but he probably orchestrated what Pfeifer also saw. Behind them were the Norwegians Timon Haugan, Henrik Kristoffersen, the Swiss Loic Meillard and Feller. Fabio Gstrein, Johannes Strolz, Adrian Pertl and Michael Matt were more than two or three seconds behind, but they would probably have qualified for the final given the sharply weakening slope. Dominik Raschner was eliminated.
