“I have the feeling that the package is now very complete and we have the right people in the right place. Our driver line-up also makes me very happy,” said motorsport director Pit Beirer at the online presentation.

The RC16, which is now more powerful due to aerodynamic changes, is piloted by Brad Binder and Jack Miller, the tried and tested duo.

Ahead of KTM’s eighth season in the “premier class”, Beirer assured that everyone in the team has developed further. In the previous season, Binder came fourth in the World Championships. Among the designers, they were number two behind the dominant Ducatis. “But of course,” Beirer continued, “our big goal and our big dream is to work towards the World Cup title, and I have the feeling that we will be ready in 2024.”

Binder is pushing into the top three

Board member Hubert Trunkenpolz emphasized that the ambitions at KTM remain high: “We will not give up until we have won this title. Because that is something that we absolutely want to have and with time we will achieve it.”

Binder naturally echoed the same sentiments. “The development is pointing upwards: eleventh, sixth, sixth and fourth,” said the South African, referring to his World Cup placings. “I have no doubt that we will be better than fourth. Last season was great at times, but there were also difficult moments and I feel as if more could have been possible. We were much more competitive every weekend and were always in Area where podium places are at stake. This season we can make the difference,” said the 28-year-old.

For Jack Miller, his debut season on the KTM was a learning year in which he grew as a pilot and person. Also because he became a father for the first time in the fall. Being the first rider ever to celebrate race victories for three different manufacturers in the four-stroke MotoGP era is now his next big goal.
