“What we have already seen in isolated cases are more complex attacks on the RKI, for example, or on clinics and vaccination centers,” said Neumann on Sunday at Bild TV. He could therefore imagine “that in a few months we may actually have to speak of a terrorist campaign”. He is convinced that the subjects of compulsory vaccination and the vaccination of children will lead to further radicalization: “These are two highly emotional issues that the scene sees as a signal and that can serve as triggers, as triggers for extreme actions.” He feared “that the movement as a whole will be smaller, (…) but that those who remain will radicalize themselves further and also want to stand up for violence,” added Neumann.
In the meantime, there were numerous political demands for decisive action by the authorities against violent corona protests. The deputy chairman of the Union parliamentary group, Thorsten Frei, called for the consistent punishment of attempts at intimidation or violations of the assembly law. “In this situation, the state must by no means appear weak,” he told the “Welt”.

For too long imperial citizens and so-called lateral thinkers have been dismissed as harmless, he told the “world”. The deputy FDP parliamentary group leader Konstantin Kuhle warned of a targeted infiltration of peaceful corona protests.
“Many have very different goals than Corona, they use the emotional debate about mandatory vaccinations to divide,” said Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) with a view to the sometimes violent protests at the weekend in Thuringia. But most of them adhered to the rules and got vaccinated. “The scare-mongers, right-wing populists and right-wing extremists must not hide that,” she told the “Bild”.
