This corresponds to an increase of 1.8 percent. Sales climbed 4.9 percent from 5.01 to 5.3 billion euros, according to the state-owned company’s annual financial report published on Tuesday evening. The dividend proposal is 0.36 euros. A sales increase of 3 to 4 percent is expected for the new financial year.
“We once again delivered a solid operational and financial performance in 2023 as a whole,” said CEO Alejandro Plater, referring to the increase in sales. “Service revenue grew in all markets except for the currency-related decline in Belarus.” The dividend proposal will therefore be increased by 4 cents to 0.36 euros compared to the previous year.
“Service sales recorded an increase of 4.4 percent for the year as a whole,” added Vice CEO Thomas Arnoldner. “Solid development of the solutions and connectivity business and the implementation of value-added measures in most markets contributed to this.”
In mobile communications, the number of subscribers increased by 5.6 percent to a total of 25 million at the end of 2023. The growth was primarily driven by growth in the M2M business, according to Telekom Austria. The RGU – so-called revenue-generating units – increased by 1.1 percent and now totals around 6.3 million.
