After problems with the epidemiological reporting system (EMS), the coronavirus case numbers for Vienna and Styria were missing for publication on Sunday. With 56 reported deaths within 24 hours, the number of victims remained high and averaged over the past seven days. In total, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 13,218 lives in Austria so far.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there were 1,232,204 confirmed SARS-CoV-2 cases in Austria by Monday morning. 1,154,192 people have recovered since the outbreak of the epidemic. As of Monday there were 64,794 active cases in Austria.

More than 37,000 vaccinations on Sunday

According to the data in the e-vaccination pass, a total of 6,475,272 people in Austria received at least one vaccination. 6,119,517 people and thus 68.5 percent of the population have valid vaccination protection.

Of the 37,408 vaccinations on Sunday, 3,993 were first stitches, that is 10.7 percent. A total of 61,409 first vaccinations were carried out in the previous week. With 25,029 third stitches on Sunday, more than two thirds (66.9 percent) of all vaccinations carried out were so-called boosters.
