With “Defend yourselves, resist, against fascism here in the country, go to the barricades, go to the barricades” they sang and got in the mood for their march through the city. Half an hour later, the demonstrators had reached their destination, the market square opposite the Jahnturnhalle, to spread a sea of lights against fascism with cell phones and lighters. “We don’t need Kickl, it’s only available at Wickl,” a poster was held up facing the other side of the street.

A long line of FPÖ sympathizers had already formed in front of the gym entrance. For 18 euros, around 2,000 supporters can expect something hearty from the party leadership in addition to a herring feast and a drink. Herbert Kickl will take the lectern for the second time.
