The young Romanian stole from a 71-year-old woman in Kirchdorf an der Krems on Wednesday morning: as he passed by, he took the wallet from her handbag and fled with it. The pensioner reported the incident to the police station in Kirchdorf on the same day. The lady recognized the perpetrator in images from a surveillance camera because of his conspicuous hood, the police reported.
On Friday, a patrol stopped the suspect in a supermarket. The 19-year-old confessed during questioning. There was already an alert against him to investigate his whereabouts because of theft. In addition, the Romanian’s fake driver’s license was confiscated and charges will follow.
