In addition to the current homepage, there is also a new overview in the app. This can be found on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen under the name “Compact“. You will be there regularly exciting stories from the state suggested. Similar to Instagram and TikTok, you can scroll through the latest news here and click on the image to get to the detailed article.

New media library
Current videos, Podcasts and Image galleries is now collected in a media library. Under the tab “mediaThese are clearly listed. Podcasts continue to play even when the screen is locked and can be controlled from the lock screen.
Watch list for media and authors
In the new one Bookmarks Not only articles but all types of media can be saved for later. This watch list has a more prominent place in the new app than before. It can be found either via the options in the top left corner of the home page or via the navigation bar under “profile“.
You will also find yours there Favorite authors. You can follow someone using the bookmark, which can be found in the author box under an article. On the overview page “My authors“ you will find all current articles by these editors.
Accessibility improved
The design also changes. In the future you will be able to use the app Dark mode activate. This allows you to read the content in white font on a black background – this is easy on the eyes and on the smartphone’s battery. Also the font size can be easily adjusted. You can make these changes in the “profile” set.
What is also new is that in the future only registered users can use the app. If you don’t yet have a nachrichten.at account, you can easily log in with your Apple or Google account. As a newly registered user, you can read all OÖNplus content free of charge for five days. When designing the app, conscious attention was paid to less advertising to show.
