At around 5:30 p.m., fire broke out in a room of the family home. The cause was probably a technical defect – probably in a multiple distributor. There were no people in the house at the time.
Three fire departments on site
A neighbor accidentally discovered that smoke was coming from a window and immediately called 911. The Ohlsdorf and Aurachkirchen fire departments and the Steyrermühl company fire department responded to the house with 60 emergency services at around 5:50 p.m.
The three respiratory protection teams managed to put out the fire within 20 minutes. Firefighters also checked the roof for possible fire spread. Despite the quick intervention, there was significant damage to the affected room.
Due to the heavy smoke, the house is currently uninhabitable. The residents were placed with relatives.
