According to the Innsbruck clinic, his condition is stable. According to police, it was probably an accident in which the boy’s uncle accidentally fired a shot from his handgun. Further investigations to clarify the matter are still ongoing.

The incident occurred at around 7:20 p.m. in a private home. The 13-year-old was hit in the upper arm and chest area; despite his injuries, he was responsive. He was flown to the university hospital in Innsbruck and underwent emergency surgery.
Similar incident in Pasching
A similar incident occurred a few days ago in Pasching (Linz-Land district): an attempt to catch an alleged burglar ended in an emergency call for a 25-year-old and her stepfather on Monday. The young woman from Thalgau was seriously injured by a shot fired from her stepfather’s rifle. She had to be taken to the Kepler University Hospital in Linz by emergency helicopter.
