In Manchester, former City striker Raheem Sterling (42nd) gave Chelsea the lead shortly before half-time. In the second half, the hosts missed many good opportunities until Rodri (83′) scored the deserved equalizer. Despite their superiority, Man City couldn’t do more than that.
In west London, Darwin Nunez completed a quick counterattack to give Liverpool the lead (35′). A little later, the in-form Diogo Jota had to leave the field injured. For the Portuguese, Salah made his first league appearance since the New Year after a thigh injury and delivered straight away. The Egyptian prepared the 2-0 by Alexis Mac Allister (55th), and he scored the 3-0 himself (68th). Cody Gakpo scored the final score (86′), previously Brentford only made cosmetic results through Ivan Toney (75′).
Arsenal made everything clear even quicker. After the early 1-0 by Martin Odegaard (4th), Bukayo Saka gave the team a 3-0 lead with two goals shortly before and after the break (41st/penalty, 47th). Leandro Trossard (66th) and Kai Havertz (78th) then scored.
Aston Villa replaced Tottenham Hotspur (1-2 home defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers) in fourth place with a 2-1 win at Fulham.
