The Red Cross, the fire department, the police and the emergency medical helicopter “Christophorus 14” were in action.

Together with a 35-year-old acquaintance, the man wanted to transport loose tree trunks that had been uprooted by a storm. The attachment to one of the trees came loose, whereupon a steel cable hit the 31-year-old in the face with full force.

His colleague was also hit by the rope, but was uninjured. The casualty was taken by rescue to a nearby soccer field and from there flown by rescue helicopter to the Kepler University Hospital in Linz.
