Against the background of increasing violence at Corona demos in Linz and other major Austrian cities, the rip cord had to be pulled. We decided to cancel it.”
This step has become inevitable, emphasizes Pregarten’s pastor August Aichhorn: “Some have misunderstood the Laternenweg as a protest against the government. That would have been the last thing we would have wanted.”
The peace march was intended as a sign of diversity, emphasizes Martin Klösch: “I also do not agree with everything the government has done in the past few weeks. But I definitely do not want politicians and care workers to be liars and murderers when moving be insulted. ” (live)
