The EU Commission plans to announce the exact amount in March, the Financial Times reported on Sunday, citing unnamed sources.
Last year, the Commission accused Apple of distorting competition in the music streaming market through rules in its app store.
The EU Commission and Apple reportedly declined to comment on the newspaper report.
If there is a penalty, the iPhone manufacturer will be able to cope with it. In the first quarter of 2024 (from October to December 2023), Apple made around $33.9 billion in profit on $120 billion in sales.
