Yulia Navalnaya, Navalny’s widow, will meet this Monday in Brussels with foreign ministers of the European Union (EU), according to the bloc’s head of diplomacy, Josep Borrell.
“On Monday, I will receive Yulia Navalnaya at the EU Council on Foreign Relations,” Borrell said on the social network X.
“EU ministers will send a strong message of support to freedom fighters in Russia and they will honor the memory” of Navalny, he explained.
Navalnaya, who had not seen her husband in two years, accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of being “personally responsible” for her husband’s death and asked the international community unite to overthrow Putin’s “terrifying regime.”
Navalny was the Kremlin’s most prominent opponent and had become widely popular for his exposure of alleged corruption under Putin’s government.
