The accident occurred where the road runs parallel to the western railway line. A 19-year-old driver apparently got off the road and crashed into a catenary mast on the western railway line. The man was trapped in the car and died at the scene of the accident.
The train traffic had to be stopped because the accident car was in the area of the embankment. Fire brigade, ambulance, emergency doctor, family doctor emergency service, police and ÖBB were on duty. After securing the evidence, the fire brigade carried out the clean-up work and supported the towing company in recovering the vehicle.
Wiener Straße was closed for around two hours in the area of the accident site, and train traffic on the western line was interrupted for one and a half hours.
