The Austrian collided with a 24-year-old snowboarder on the Schönboden slope on February 6th, the police said on Tuesday. The Brit was injured but went to the emergency room himself. The 86-year-old, however, had to be rescued by rescue helicopter. The 86-year-old was flown to the Innsbruck clinic, where he died. The public prosecutor ordered an autopsy.

A 55-year-old Swede sustained serious injuries in a skiing accident in Sölden (Imst district) in Tyrol on Tuesday morning. The man wanted to avoid two Germans standing on the edge of the piste on Tiefenbachferner. One of the 55-year-old’s skis came loose. He fell and crashed into the 34-year-old and the 35-year-old.
The Swede had to be flown by rescue helicopter to the Innsbruck clinic in critical condition. The man was traveling with his daughter, police said. The two Germans were only slightly injured. They were looked after by the piste rescue team.
