After initial positive results, a larger international study with the potential drug has now been published in the journal Jama. The principle: The active ingredients are short artificial RNA sequences that specifically block the body’s production of the protein that is responsible for increasing blood pressure. The results show that blood pressure was reduced for several months after the injection was administered. Before approval, the drug must undergo further clinical studies.
