Laura Raffo relaunched her campaign with a personal letter to Uruguayans

The pre-candidate of National Party, Laura Raffo, relaunched its campaign for the elections 2024 with a personal letter to the Uruguayans, where the economist reviewed her arrival in politics and the will to “lead a transformation” from the government.

Raffo, who competes in an internal competition that has Alvaro Delgado as a favorite, he made “a call for each one of us to make history from our place and that together we create a Uruguay of opportunities”, in a more personal text.

The economist read the letter at the headquarters of Add, before militants and leaders from all over the country, where he launched the second stage of his campaign, under the slogan “Let’s Make History”, which seeks to challenge citizens with concepts about their life history.

Laura Raffo shared her personal story

In the first section of the letter, Raffo He shared his personal story, in which he mixed his dream of “being a singer” with his admiration for his grandmother Lidia. “I used to cook pots and pans with her against the dictatorship”, he remembered.

Regarding her origins in politics, she reviewed that “as a girl she went to Party events and sang all the jingles by heart” and, professionally, she said that “at the age of 22 she taught at the Udelar with sweaty hands from nerves.”

“I am the one who received a thesis in ’98 on the wage gap between men and women. “I am ‘the one on TV’, the economist who was asked on the street how much the dollar was going to be,” said the PN pre-candidate.

And he added: “I wrote in a diary, I covered night shifts, I worked for years in companies that left me great friendships and lessons. I am the one who had twins at 34. The mother with guilt when she spends many hours away from home.”
