At least that’s the plan. ADX originally wanted to start test drilling earlier. But environmentalists have been campaigning against the project for months. As reported, there have been several clashes with opponents of drilling in the past few weeks.

But even objections to the permit could not prevent drilling from starting this Saturday.
According to the conditions, the test drilling must be completed by the end of March. ADX hopes to discover larger amounts of natural gas at depths of several hundred meters. If this is the case, new permits will be required to extract and transport it. If the search is unsuccessful, the drilling site must be restored to its original condition.
