The Stadl-Paura and Lambach fire departments were alerted at 3:06 p.m. to the scene of the accident on Gmundener Straße (B144) at the intersection with Steinweg. The police, Red Cross and the emergency medical helicopter “Christophorus 10” were also deployed.
Break through the window with a hammer
For reasons still unknown, two cars collided near an intersection. A car overturned, came to rest on its roof and began to burn. Two witnesses to the accident broke through the vehicle’s window with a hammer and freed the driver from the burning car. When the emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident, all occupants had exited the cars and the firefighters were extinguishing the burning car.

Two people were slightly injured in the accident and taken to hospital. There was enormous damage to both vehicles.
The B144 was closed between Stadl-Paura and Roitham am Traunfall for around an hour and a half.
