The license plates of the cars in front of the Ried farmers’ market hall reflect the map of the tarot fans: the fans of the “royal card game” have traveled to the Innviertel from several federal states and many districts in Upper Austria. The Rieder Lions Club (and the OÖNachrichten as media partner) guarantee one of the best-attended tarot tournaments in the country.
Around 170 participants came to Ried on Saturday to play for victory in the Lions tournament. This year it will be awarded in several categories for the first time.

In addition to the general class, the best Innviertler and the best participant will also be honored with a prize for the first time. The prize for the best tarot player – the “Utarock” – is awarded in memory of Uta Keiler. The passionate tarot player and wife of the Rieder Lions founding president died around a year and a half ago.
