Putin entered the top ten most revered men in the world

Russian President Vladimir Putin entered the top 10 most revered men in the world in 2021, moving up three positions to ninth. The results of a poll conducted by research group YouGov are released on December 14.

Topped the rating, like last year, former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle.

The world’s top ten men also include Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Chinese President Xi Jinping, football players Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, actor Jackie Chan, SpaceX founder Elon Musk, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Alibaba founder Jack Ma. Former and current US presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden ranked 13th and 20th, respectively.

The most revered women were actress Angelina Jolie, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, TV presenter Oprah Winfrey, actresses Scarlett Johansson, Emma Watson, Priyanka Chopra, singer Taylor Swift, ex-German Chancellor Angela Merkel and human rights activist Malala Yusufzai.

The researchers noted that the first three lines on both the men’s and women’s lists remained unchanged this year. Priyanka Chopra and Malala Yusufzai gained the most positions during the year – five each.

In 2019, Putin was on the tenth line of this rating. He was four positions ahead of then-US President Donald Trump.

In 2018, Putin topped Forbes magazine’s list of the most influential Russians. As the publication wrote, this happened automatically, because he took second place in the global ranking of the most influential people in the world.
