“This is the best solution ever,” says Upper Austria’s state police director Andreas Pilsl, enthusiastically about the castling in the country house area. With the renovation of the Promenade 33 building, not only will the police receive an inspection with modern infrastructure, several points will also be solved, as State Governor Thomas Stelzer put it in a press release.
After the police have moved out and the renovation has been carried out, State Councilor Stefan Kaineder and his staff will move into the country house. The “transformation” of Promenade 37 into a “House of Culture” has already been completed: In addition to the state’s cultural directorate and the Landes-Kultur-GmbH, which were already based there before the castling, there are also the cultural associations that were previously located in the Promenade 33 building were housed, had already moved in. This means the routes are shorter and more efficient, which, according to Stelzer, would benefit everyone.
Construction work in the Promenade 23 building is scheduled to begin in March; completion, including handover to the police, is planned for the beginning of next year. The budget for this is around two million euros.
