Many drivers do not even have a driver’s license

Fake driving licenses, no driving license at all, driving under the influence of drugs: an astonishing number of delinquents are on the autobahn, as an excerpt from the reports of Bavarian investigators shows within a few days in the border area to the Innviertel.

A driver from Bulgaria presented a Belgian driver’s license during an inspection, which turned out to be a fake. In addition, the 40-year-old is banned from driving in Germany; his car was neither registered nor insured.

Another Bulgarian who was caught had his driver’s license withdrawn and he was wanted by the public prosecutor’s office for driving without a license. A little later, the police noticed that a car was pulling up on the hard shoulder and the driver and passenger were hastily exchanging places. The reason for this quickly became apparent: The 34-year-old driver does not have a driver’s license. His co-driver is also reported – for attempted thwarting of punishment.

With a Porsche without a driver’s license

When inspecting a Porsche with a Polish registration, the driver – a 22-year-old Syrian resident in Austria – was unable to show a driver’s license. The young man said he had forgotten it at home. Investigations revealed that the Porsche driver’s license had already been withdrawn in Austria.

Even a driver from Romania who was caught could not present a driver’s license, he had already had to surrender his driving license in his home country because of several traffic offenses. In the case of a car with an Italian license plate, it turned out that the “badge” was forged – and the driver from Romania was driving with forged papers. A Romanian with British car registration also presented a forged driver’s license. Without the necessary driver’s license class and without a license plate, a German crossed the border who had bought a Unimog in Austria and wanted to bring it home.

The investigators found small amounts of marijuana in four passengers on a long-distance bus aged 16, 18, 22 and 28. In addition, the 16- and 18-year-olds, both Syrians, were found to be staying illegally in Germany. The 16-year-old had no ID with him. After the Bavarians had stopped police measures, the two were able to travel on to Austria.

A 19-year-old driver from the Passau district turned out to be under the influence of drugs. When a 27-year-old drug driver from Hungary was checked, it was revealed that his driver’s license had already been revoked because he was driving under the influence of drugs.

A 29-year-old drug driver from Slovakia and a 45-year-old from Serbia were also caught.
