Hütter under pressure before the game against Glasner

There will be a very special reunion today in the German Bundesliga. Adi Hütter meets with Mönchengladbach on his ex-club Eintracht Frankfurt with his successor Oliver Glasner. It is a big surprise that Hütter is only 13th in the table with Gladbach, while the Frankfurters are 9th. Hütter had probably left Frankfurt because of the better prospects in Gladbach. The Gladbach company paid a transfer fee of around 7.5 million euros in order to be able to pull the release clause. Hütter’s change was made public early in the preseason, after which Frankfurt slipped into a low and also missed the qualification for the Champions League, which was already believed to be safe. It was clear that a new start would take place in Frankfurt because numerous top performers would also be leaving the club.

This new start succeeded under Huetter’s successor Glasner after starting difficulties. Most recently, four out of five league games have been won, and the Europa League is already in the round of 16. Gladbach, however, recently suffered three defeats in a row with 2:14 goals. “You can’t be the first to fall over in a headwind, you have to stop,” said Hütter yesterday. His opponent warned of yesterday’s duel: “We will certainly not be blinded by the three defeats our opponents have.” Glasner has to do without the injured ÖFB team player Stefan Ilsanker today.
