Business that does not require any money

The premiere in autumn was so successful that the pop-up shop “Feel Free” in the pedestrian zone is reopening: On March 15th and 16th, the doors of the special shop in Haus Hoher Markt and FUZO 14 will open again in Waidhofen.Customers can once again hand in used goods, from irons to T-shirts, and get an exchange item in return. The shop, a project of the municipality and the training company of the Waidhofen business and music secondary school, operates without any money and has no cash register. There is one basic rule: you can only bring and pick up items that you can carry without outside help. “You are welcome to post items that you cannot carry on the ‘bulletin board’. There will certainly be people who can put these things to good use,” adds the project team. “We don’t just want to set an example for sustainability and against waste, this is also about community, cohesion and mutual help,” says Bettina Buder, who launched the “Feel Free” project.
