Mayor wants lifts to run earlier

The HiWu-Bergbahnen Gesellschaft, in which the Schröcksnadel Group is the majority owner, starts the lift season as announced on December 22nd and not a day earlier. “We currently have wonderful weather, a huge amount of snow and the cable cars are up,” says Exenberger annoyed. Not only that annoyed season ticket holders complained about their suffering: “The parking lot at the Wurzeralm was already full to the brim because an unbelievable number of ski tourers came. If every euro counts, you should at least have cashed in there long ago.”

Exenberger imagined in his mind that the Schröcksnadel group could also get out of the Wurzeralm and return all shares to the country, as it did recently in Lower Austria. For Hi-Wu boss Helmut Holzinger, the mayor is plagued by an unnecessary fear of an end on the Wurzeralm: “We still have a pandemic during which I cannot fully start.” He doesn’t want to hire lift attendants who he might have to fire again after four weeks.
